A girl named Meagan wants to be helpful. She went to the mall and gets herself a job at a chocolate stand. However, she was overwhelmed with the number of orders that comes her way. When she gets home, all she wanted to do is to rest and relax. What will she do to relax her tired feet?
This book is about a boy named Brian – who needs a lot of therapy. Two other students, Michael and Michael, bully him. In the end he won’t confront them. The moral of the book is my favorite- ‘if you’re being bullied you need to take a stand.’ or else the people who are bullying you get away with being rude.
One day the King gathered every oyster and said “I want you all to go out into the deep dark dangerous waters. You must help others. Do what you can to show them you care.” Ivory asks the King if she could give away her pearl and the King replied “You look into your heart. Do what you think is best. But just remember… … then you’ll only be a small shell without a pearl.”
Remembering the King’s advice, Ivory sets off into the deep dark dangerous waters. She swam and swam for miles; tired and alone, as she headed down further and further, away from her dear home. She saw a rusted tin can nestled in a bunch of tangled kelp and dark green seaweed on the ocean’s floor. Sitting outside of it, was Slog, a big black catfish who does not care about anybody and thinks no one cares about him. Looking at his bleak surroundings and hearing his empty speech, Ivory wants to give Slog something very special.
Thinking of what she did makes her tremble inside herself; how would she, how could she explain this to the King?
This book is a configuration of my inner thoughts and spirituality as I dealt with being bipolar and, later, being diagnosed with cerebellar ataxia.
After many trials and tribulations, I found, with the grace of God, a rehabilitation facility called Family Center for Recovery (FCFR), owned and operated by Dr. Robert Moran, a neuropsychologist, who took a renowned interest in my case. I’m forever grateful to him for my healing.
When I was in the process of putting together this book to publish, my beloved grandmother passed away after battling many ailments.
After finding some of her writings, we concluded that she also wrote beautiful poetry. I’m glad that because of my healing, I was able to spend quality time with her before her death. I, till this day, enjoy the fact that we both have a passion for writing. Her poems are now part of this book, as she was a big part of my life. A dedication to Florence Pica was written by her daughter, as her feelings were also expressed through poems.
I thank God for my healing, my spirituality, my talent, and my grandmother, who now resides with Jesus!
Enjoy!
